On the fifth day we left for Brisbane by train. Took a taxi to the apartment then walked around the area. There is a takeaway and convenience store( Chai's) nearby owned by Malaysians. No problem getting Malaysian food and ingredients for cooking. However the apartment is up on a hilly road. Walking back is ......whew! The University of Queensland campus is quite nice. After having lunch (Chai's takeaway) we went exploring Chinatown in Brisbane. The next day we visited Brisbane's city sights, took a ride on the river ferry (City Cat) and strolled the famous South Bank where the Friday night Lifestyle markets are held. The South Bank is the place for Brisbane city dwellers to relax. There are parks, food, cinemas and even a lagoon for them to swim, complete with sand and beach! |
